At this level you will typically supervise the day-to-day
activities of one or more EMS/DMS projects, including not only
management of multiple project tasks, but also coaching of project
team members. Project Managers typically have the following
responsibilities:
- Manage and take full ownership for key portions of client
projects, including deliverable quality and timeliness and
coordination within the project
- Plan, schedule, and track the project activities and
deliverables on client and vendor sides.
- Review analyses, specifications, schedules, costing, and
reports for quality and clarity of presentation
- Present project progress, and results to client groups at
periodic client meetings and conferences
- Manage a group of analysts and consultants on a day-to-day
basis
- Manage multiple client engagements, often in different
geographic and power industry sectors
- Manage and coordinate the relationship between client and
EMS/DMS vendor
- Contribute to the development of new intellectual capital
for the company, including new business models and analytical techniques
Professionals who are hired into UDS group at this level generally
possess graduate degrees and/or several years of directly relevant
work experience. This position usually requires extensive amount
of travel.
Principal Consultants are given a great deal of responsibility
from the moment they join the firm, and interact directly with
clients and senior executives within UDS group. Principal
Consultant responsibilities include the following:
- Contribute to the development of analytical frameworks and methodologies
- Gather, validate and analyze client data
- Develop and investigate hypotheses concerning client performance
- Present analytical results and insights before client audiences
- Conduct research and present synthesized case studies to internal and client audiences
- Prepare specifications
- Conduct specification review, design review, and testing as part of EMS/DMS delivery process.
This position requires extensive knowledge and experience in power
system operation and Energy Management Systems and applications.
This position usually requires extensive amount of travel.
